When 11 young adults from Brentwood School in Timperley, which educates children with profound physical and learning disabilities, had their school transport withdrawn by Trafford Council, Rich Media decided to act.
Offering our services free of charge, we devised a campaign and a media strategy that saw the protests against the cuts receive national newspaper and television coverage.
The parents and their children were highlighted in a special report filmed by ITV. The musician, Johnny Marr, whose niece was affected by the cuts, featured prominently in our campaign. We organised a petition to force debate in the council chamber and we offered families access to legal advice and support. The campaign is ongoing.
