Schools and colleges are places where extraordinary things happen on a daily basis.

Our expertise in the education sector, coupled with almost 50 years' experience in journalism, means Rich Media is uniquely placed to make sure your story is told beyond the school gates.

Rich Media devises individual packages to tell your story. We work with you to create a positive perception of your school amongst current and prospective parents and raise your profile. Our aim is to make your school the local school of choice.

How we can help tell your story

Every school is a community with larger than life personalities, individual and group successes, challenges and achievements.

Each school is an integral part of a wider local community of parents, relatives, residents and friends.

We work to help our schools tell their story. To highlight the highs, minimise the impact of the lows.

We do that through well-planned and responsive media campaigns, high quality marketing material, including photographs from our award-winning photographer, Mark Waugh, expertly-designed prospectuses and clever social media strategies.

Every school we have worked with, since Rich Media was established in 2011, has seen an increase in admissions. Our first ever client, Levenshulme High School went from a significant shortfall in numbers to being over- subscribed. There are three times more enquiries about places at St Bede's College in Manchester this year than there were last year and one of our primary schools in Nantwich, facing redundancies due to falling numbers and the subsequent impact on budget, now has a waiting list.

The Team

Sally Wheatman & Tim Rich
Sally Wheatman & Tim Rich

Rich Media was established by Sally and Tim because, as journalists, they know everyone - and we do mean everyone - has story worth telling. Having worked at Radio Four, The Independent, the Daily Telegraph and BBC Radio Manchester they know how to tell them.

Sally spent 10 years with the BBC in Manchester, where she worked as part of the Radio Four team producing Women's Hour, the consumer affairs programme, You and Yours, and The Message, which dealt with how the media works.

Tim joined The Independent in 2000 to become the paper's northern sports correspondent, moved to The Daily Telegraph five years later before embarking on a career as a freelance writer. He has covered four World Cups and reported across the globe.

“The professional contributions of Sally and Rich Media Ltd, their invaluable guidance linked to ‘message stories’ and great photos, coupled with their ability to get these stories published in a timely fashion, undoubtedly had a considerable impact on the numbers of children and families now considering and coming to our wonderful school. All work was also undertaken with well-tuned sensitivity and an understanding of a school environment.

Sound & District Primary would recommend both Sally and Rich Media Ltd with confidence to any school wishing to raise their profile within the local community.”

“When we needed a professional communications specialist to support one of our projects at a critical time, Rich Media proved completely invaluable to the team. They were able to grasp a huge amount of information in a short space of time and, with their skills and experience, turn this into a range of targeted press materials to underpin our launch campaign.  We would definitely work with them again.”

Co-Director, Dovetail

“Rich Media are a company that deliver what they promise.  We have successfully used Rich Media for the last two years to promote the progress, events and activities of our school.  Three years ago we needed to change the public perception of our school and employed Rich Media to work alongside us. They have successfully done this for us with minimal cost.  I highly recommend them to any organisation needing public relations work.”

Andrew Ross
Principal, Rudheath Primary Academy, Northwich

"We needed to produce a brochure for our Sixth Form within a very short timescale. RichMedia responded incredibly quickly despite the time constraints, and they designed and produced an eye-catching and informative brochure which really makes us stand out from the competition. RichMedia are easy to work with – they listen properly to the brief and make sure that the final product meets the client’s requirements."

Michael Taylor
Headteacher, Phoenix Academy, Shepherd's Bush, London

"It is an absolute pleasure to work with Rich Media, they have guided us through every aspect of our PR work from prospectus to dealing with local and national media. They have a very personal approach and are always on hand at very short notice. Our intake has increased by 25% and Rich media have been a vital component in achieving this goal, I would recommend Sally and Tim to any organisation."
